- Virtual Environments at the Naval Research Lab, Washington, D.C.
-
- The ENEWS ( Effectiveness of Naval Electronic Warfare Systems ) program
- at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory has recently begun a virtual env-
- ironments project with the goal of simulating naval warfare scenarios
- within virtual space for tactical and strategic evaluation. At present,
- our lab consists of two SG VGX machines and several PIs. The work is be-
- ing done by two GW graduate students ( I'm one of them ) under the dir-
- ection of Dr. Allen Duckworth.
-
- I'll probably have more to say on what we're doing as soon as I find
- out myself. Like I mentioned, the project is very new and our focus of
- attention has not yet been determined.
-
- We'd be interested in talking with anyone who might be working in this
- application of virtual worlds, particulary other military labs. Thanks.
